Alan Brown Surfacing Ltd, was originally set up in 1989 as a one-man operation since then we have expanded our labour force, plant and lorry fleet and our operating base. We successfully carry out works as either the main contractor or sub-contractor to most major employers in our region. In order to maintain our "hands-on" day-to-day management we limit our tendering activities to the area within a 70-mile radius of Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

Our client base extends through local authority, schools departments, local NHS Trusts, major and medium sized Contractors, local builders and developers, private companies and, importantly, domestic property owners.

At Alan Brown Surfacing Ltd we are committed to customer care we take pride in providing a quality service using only the best products available and by staff (not sub-contractors) who are fully trained to NRASWA, NVQ Level 2, CSCS, CPCS and NPORS plant training standards. Our professional surveyors will spend as much time as is necessary in advising you and discussing our products and services, to ensure you reach the best decision for you. Our surveyors are trained in all aspects of Tarmacadam and Block Paving and will ensure that your installation meets the latest Planning and Building Regulation requirements, especially with regard to drainage. Our Tarmacadam range, either hand or machine laid, includes the use of fine aggregates for pavements and play areas to Stone Mastic Asphalt for roads and tracks with heavy usage.

We are not tied to any Block Paving manufacturer so we are able to offer products from any of the major supplier companies. Our surveyors and designers will work with you in the selection of the right combination of colour, texture, size and shape of the blocks, together with the design of the finished installation. Although most of our customers choose black Tarmacadam, we also offer it in red or green and with edging options from a simple concrete edging, kerbs or decorative Block Paving and cobbles or setts.
